Meet Angela Duncan, N.P.
Angela Duncan, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC earned her first bachelor's degree in Political Science from Eastern Illinois University of Charleston, IL in 1988. She earned her Associates in Nursing (ADN) from Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey, IL in 2012. She earned both her bachelor's in nursing (BSN) in 2017 and her master's in nursing (MSN for Family Practice) in 2020 from Indiana Wesleyan University. Angela has a passion for education. She enjoys precepting nursing, nurse practitioner and medical students.
Growing up, Angela volunteered and worked with the local veterinarian, as her initial dream was to be a veterinarian. She worked since age 12 with Dr. Marion Bliler, DVM and Dr. Keith Ehteridge, DVM where she developed many medical skills from assisting with clients and their pets, surgeries, x-rays, blood draw, injections, and disease processes and treatments. It was after college at Eastern University that Angela was employed in various successful careers. Ultimately, she found that Nursing would be her true passion.
She worked in various nursing positions since completing nursing school. She worked at Carlinville Community Hospital as a staff nurse, HSHS St. John's Hospital as a Neurology floor nurse, floating to Orthopedics and Oncology, a travel nurse with Maxim healthcare at Advocate Illinois Masonic Oncology Department, and Elmhurst Memorial Medical Group (EEHealth organization) as triage/clinical nurse. She is interested in neurology. She is amazed at the vast capabilities of the mind.
Angela grew up in a small town in Central Illinois. She loves spending time with her spouse, family, friends, and pets. She is a cyclist, hiker, disc golfer, bowler, basically if its an outdoor activity she is willing to give it a try. She enjoys gardening, games with friends, theater, movies, and rock concerts, especially heavy metal!
Angela considers holistic care to be vital! She believes that healing and wholeness are matters of body, mind, and spirit.
